CARLSBAD, CA – (December 2017) ResorTime, the rental arm of timeshare management company Grand Pacific Resorts elevated its participation in the #GivingTuesday movement this year with donations to six charities.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, kicking off the charitable season. ResorTime re-imagined its brand in 2014, launching the online travel agency with giving at the core of its brand architecture and has long supported this movement, opting-out of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, diverting promotional dollars to Giving Tuesday as a way to support local causes.
Carrying on ResortTime’s giving philosophy of supporting the causes that matter most to its guests, the charities supported on Giving Tuesday were nominated by guests: Pacific Cancer Fitness/Tri-City Wellness, Ray of Sunshine, and Operation Safe House in Southern California, and Marin Charitable and Kids Cooking for Life in Northern California, along with Christel House International. When guests booked a vacation they saved 10% and 10% was donated to the charity of their choice, generating hundreds of dollars to the charities.
“On average, it costs $25 per day to provide a Christel House student with all of our programs and services,” said Becky Arnett, Senior Director at Christel House International. “That cost includes bus transportation, uniforms, breakfast, lunch and a snack, teacher salaries, school books and supplies. The donation will provide 20 kids with a full day of Christel House. We can’t thank you enough!”
Through a robust social media campaign that included the deployment of captivating content on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook page views increased by 200% and engagement by 114%, along with hundreds of new followers on the numerous Instagram accounts involved. ResorTime also provided assets to all the charities, utilizing their audience to expand social reach and engagement to assist with donation efforts.
“Our philosophy has always been, what matters to you matters to us, and Giving Tuesday was an inspiring endeavor to support the charities that guests have expressed personal connections to,” said Renee Wagner, RRP, Director of Creative Services for ResorTime. “And the fact we were able to reach so many people and donate to multiple charities is exciting.”
