Permission to Vacation Granted

In case you needed an “excuse” to plan a vacation, there’s now an official holiday dedicated to doing so. Yes, January 25th is National “Plan For Vacation Day”, and we’re here for it.

Between mounting work and personal obligations—oh, plus 2 years of ongoing global uncertainty—it’s safe to say that all of us could probably use a break right about now.

Unfortunately, Americans are notorious for not taking vacations. Blame our puritanical work ethic, desire to climb the corporate ladder, or simply because we’re just so busy, omg. But the fact is that now more than ever, vacations are increasingly becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity.

Carving out some much-needed time to catch your breath and recharge your batteries makes you a better employee, parent, friend, everything. And dedicating a day early on in the year to plan one helps make it a reality while also giving you something to look forward to on days when the grind gets particularly tough.

To quote the great Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

So in light of the above, we say get inspired, grab your calendar, and get something on the books.
