Autumn is upon us! We all know that fall is the season of baking.  There’s pumpkin pie, baked apples, and bread pudding, but what about a tasty spin on a classic? This cream cheese pie recipe will impress your family and make your mouth water. It’s the perfect alternative to cheesecake. The best part?  You can make it in the comfort of your own kitchen. Fall Baking: Mom’s Cream Cheese Pie

Mom’s Cream Cheese Pie

Pie Ingredients:

  • 1 package of graham crackers (or box of graham cracker crumbs)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (or margarine)
  • 9 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  • Blend cracker crumbs and butter.
  • Press into a greased 10-inch pie pan to form crust.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes to set crust.
  • Remove from oven and cool.
  • Combine remaining ingredients, mixing well, then pour into crust.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool 5 minutes.

Topping Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pint sour cream (1 cup)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  • Combine ingredients; spread gently over pie.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and cool, then chill in refrigerator at least 5 hours (overnight is best).
