The first stretch of this trail goes from Lydgate Beach Park to Wailua Beach Park. Another option is that you could start in Kapa’a and head to Ahihi Point. There is also a spot next to the trail in Kapa’a to rent bikes if that is the best way for you and your group to explore this trail. To access the southern end of the trail, parking is available at Lydgate Beach Park which is off Nalu Road. To access the northern end of the trail, parking is available at Waipouli Beach Park at the Lihi Boat Ramp on Kaloloku Road. Another parking option is available at Kapa’a Beach Park at the end of Niu Street.

The trail is separate from the highway, so it’s safe for children and is relatively flat. This is also convenient if you happen to be traveling with younger children and have strollers to push. There are plenty of areas to stop along this trail and enjoy the breathtaking views of this amazing island. Whether you get up early and enjoy a sunrise stroll, or enjoy a sunny afternoon walking along Kauai’s east side beaches, the views are a must see!
