Taos, in north-central New Mexico, has been a thriving artists community since the early 20th century. Surrounded by rivers, beautiful vistas and mountain trails, this is a place for lovers of both art and nature.
The sun may shine for an average of 300 days per year in Taos, but winter tempuratures make for lots of snow making it a perfect ski destination. In summer explore Taos on horseback, by foot or by raft along the Rio Grande.
The ResortResort at Taos was built on the property of the former home of artist Nicolai Fechin, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many units feature a private patio or balcony and all are equipped with a mini-kitchen. There are common areas for picnics or BBQ, and an outdoor pool and hot tub.
Area Attractions While art is pivotal to the area, Taos is also a place to visit historical museums, interesting shops, and scrumptious barbecues and Tex-Mex cuisine. The area is a recreational playground, where you can ski, snowboard, hike, bike, or kayak amid a landscape of expansive vistas, castles of clouds, and radiant red earth.

From Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (136 miles or about 2.5 hours)
Start out going west on Sunport Boulevard SE for 1.7 miles. Merge onto I-25 N toward I-40/Downtown and Santa Fe and drive for 60 miles. Merge onto US-285 N/us-84 n VIA Exit 282 toward Los Alamos/Taos/Santa Fe plaza and drive for 28.4 miles. Stay straight to go onto N Riverside Dr/NM-68 N. Continue to follow NM-68 N for 45.3 miles. NM-68 N becomes Paseo del Pueblo Norte/US-64. Your resort is only a quarter of a mile down the road. |
