Tonto Natural Bridge State Park
This little park is a must see if you are in the area. The park is located just north of Payson, Arizona, and is about a two hour drive from Pine Top. They believe this is the world's largest natural travestine (type of rock) bridge in the world. The whole park can be seen in probably two to three hours, but you may want to stay for the entire day. There were no crowds the day we visited (late afternoon on a Wednesday in April). In fact, during our time there we saw only five other people.

Biosphere 2
Biosphere 2, the world’s largest glass-enclosed ecological laboratory, is located in the spectacular Santa Catalina Mountains just north of Tucson. Currently operated by Columbia University, Biosphere 2 is actually a totally self-contained ecosystem. This non-profit research and education center was created to better understand Biosphere 1.....our planet Earth. Inside this unique structure, researchers are working to understand how increased carbon dioxide in our atmosphere will affect us and the world we live in.
San Xavier Mission
In the vast desert on an Indian reservation just southwest of Tucson, Arizona, one would not expect to find a beautiful church. Following the signs from the highway directs you toward Mission San Xavier (pronounced as "hauv-e-air") del Bac, you approach this majestic "White Dove of the Desert" (as it is affectionately called). It is truly an awesome experience. The sheer size and bright color against a blue sky and the tan colors of the desert make San Xavier Mission a striking sight.
