Open all year, the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, Southern California's only authentic bobsled experience, begins with a scenic chairlift ride to the top that includes panoramic views of beautiful Big Bear Lake and the surrounding mountains. From there, riders navigate their own individually controlled sleds, each with teflon runners and ball bearing wheels, down their choice of two quarter-mile long cement tracks filled with high-banked turns and long straightaways. Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo Museum
Massive, unusual, impressive and somewhat disturbing all at the same time, this museum is the result of one man's passionate interest in the Hopi Indians. Driven to recreate a Hopi Pueblo, Cabot Yerxa worked on this structure for 24 years until his death in 1965. The 35-room adobe and wood structure contains some of Yerxa's extensive collections from his world travels. See their website for further information. Palm Springs Art Museum
Founded in 1938, the Palm Springs Desert Museum is an educational institution that promotes a greater understanding of art and performing arts through collections, exhibitions and programs. The Museum's permanent art collection features 19th, 20th, and 21st century works focusing on contemporary California art, classic western American art, Native American art; pre-Columbian art, Mexican art, and European modern art; glass studio art, American mid-twentieth century architecture, and American photography.
The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies
The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies is a world-famous, Broadway-caliber celebration of the music, dance, and comedy of the 30's, 40's, and 50's. It is located at the historic Plaza theatre in the heart of the Village of Palm Springs. This Spanish-style film house has hosted radio broadcasts by greats such as Jack Benny and Bob Hope, as well as live performances by Frank Sinatra, Gordon MacRae, Donald O'Connor and other Palm Springs celebrities.
Agua Caliente Cultural Museum
This small museum is dedicated to the preservation of the Agua Caliente band of the Cahuilla Indians, who initially discovered the Palm Springs area. Displays include basketry masterworks by past and present artisans, early photographs and a full-size re-creation of a traditional Cahuilla kish. The museum is also the official repatriation center for disturbed remains of Agua Caliente tribal people and receives relics recovered in the area. Admission is free.

Deserts provide great conditions for preserving planes, and this huge collection of historic planes is a Palm Springs landmark. Enjoy getting an up-close view of aerial history in huge, air-conditioned hangers, then watch a movie in the Buddy Rogers Theater. There is a gift shop filled with airplane-themed souvenirs. Special events include air shows featuring the largely WWII-era aircraft, children's activities and lectures, often presented by the men and women who flew the planes originally.

A very tight, tree-lined layout. Streams and marshes come into play on 14 holes. The facilities include a lighted driving range and plenty of short-game practice areas. There is on-site club repair, daily golf schools and specialty golf clinics, as well as individual instruction by PGA and LPGA professionals. Collared shirts required and soft pikes are suggested but not yet mandatory. Groups may go out in fivesomes, so pace of play can be slow at times.

Perhaps Oceanside's most memorable landmark, the pier was first built in the late 1890's by Melchoir Pieper using lumber that had been salvaged from the wharf at Wisconsin Street after it had been destroyed in a storm. The only zip line in LA and Orange County. Dropping from 500ft. to 60ft. above sea level with one run that is 1,100 linear feet long. Travel close to three quarters of a mile over five consecutive zips at speeds pushing 45mph. The tour lasts approximately two hours. Reservations are highly recommended.
Birch Aquarium
Throughout the summer the Aquarium offers programs that feature hands-on activities, animal encounters, and creative arts and crafts to reinforce ocean program themes. Children learn about marine animals and ocean conservation while learning new skills.Visitors touring the aquarium are welcomed into a brightly lit galleria that is central to all three exhibit areas. As visitors walk through the aquarium, the tanks display habitats starting with the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest along the California coast, and down to the tropical waters of Mexico and the Caribbean.
La Jolla Shores
Located at 8200 Camino del Oro, La Jolla Shores offers some of the most gentle waves in San Diego. Many novice SCUBA classes are held in the waters of this mile-ling stretch of sand. Only half a mile a way you’ll find the Birh Aquarium where the whole family can learn about the exciting local marine life.
